Stephen is the managing partner and the director of the litigation department at Prowse Chowne. With over 30 years of experience in litigation and advocacy, his broad range of experience enables him to successfully represent clients in a wide range of matters. Currently, his litigation practice focuses on business litigation including business and investment fraud, contract and tort claims, serious personal injury and fatality claims, counsel in civil appeals, counsel to professionals involved in regulatory and disciplinary procedures, and professional malpractice including medical, accounting and legal malpractice.
As managing partner, Stephen has overseen the implementation of leading technology into the Prowse Chowne office and has written numerous articles and made several presentations on the benefits of such techonolgies. As a result Prowse Chowne has been recognized as a leader in office technology and management.
Stephen also authored the materials for the Client Interviewing and Counseling Bar Admission course and has taught the course since its inception. This workshop is designed to train new lawyers a client-centered approach to interviewing and counseling.
Stephen’s professional affiliations include the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, in which he has held several executive positions. He is also a member and past governor of the American Trial Lawyers Association, a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He has also volunteered his time to the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta as workshop leader, and in the capacity of judge for the client interviewing and counselling competitions.
