Amy Bassili is a Partner in the litigation department at Prowse Chowne. Her practice focuses mainly on business litigation including complex commercial matters, business and investment fraud, contract and tort claims, serious personal injury and fatality claims. She is also counsel to professionals involved in regulatory and disciplinary hearings, and professional medical malpractice claims.
Amy has appeared in all levels of Alberta Court and was second counsel in a 4 weeklong trial and subsequent appeal involving issues of fraudulent representation in relation to business valuation, with damages amounting to 17 million.
Amy’s professional affiliations include membership in the Edmonton Bar Association, Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and the Canadian Bar Association. She is a committee member to the Canadian Bar Association’s Administration of Justice Committee which identifies cases suitable for public intervention that are of interest or concern to the legal community, to which the legal profession has a social or moral obligation to respond.
Amy presently sits as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Edmonton International Film Festival and enjoys providing counsel and career mentorship to junior lawyers.
